Someone asked “How soon can you trim the lower branches of your young oak trees”

I suggest you leave the lower branches until the tree is atlest 10 feet tall. Oak trees will thicken and grow stronger quicker if the lower branches are left in place. After the oak tree is 10 feet, you should trim them to remove all limbs up to 3 to 4 feet from the ground. Most oak trees, at maturity, have all limbs removed 5 to 6 feet from the ground.
